Durplastics approves its first Equality Plan

At Durplastics, we understand that a company’s growth does not depend solely on its production capacity, innovation or the quality of its materials. It is also built on the people who are part of the organisation and on the conditions that enable them to develop professionally in a respectful, safe and equitable working environment.

With this objective in mind, we have approved our First Equality Plan 2026-2030, a roadmap setting out the measures we will implement over the next four years to continue advancing equal opportunities for women and men.

A commitment translated into action

The Equality Plan was developed following an initial process of analysis and assessment of the company’s situation, carried out together with the Negotiating Committee.

This process has enabled us to assess Durplastics’ current practices, identify the organisation’s main strengths and pinpoint areas where further progress can still be made.

Based on these conclusions, specific actions have been defined, together with assigned responsibilities, monitoring indicators and implementation deadlines, to ensure that the established objectives can be assessed throughout the entire term of the plan.

Main areas of action

The Equality Plan takes a cross-functional approach to the different processes related to people management and development at Durplastics.

The planned measures include:

  • Ensuring recruitment and hiring processes based on objective and non-discriminatory criteria.

  • Promoting transparent career development based on merit and skills.

  • Encouraging employee training and awareness on equality.

  • Regularly reviewing remuneration policies to ensure equal pay.

  • Promoting measures that support work-life balance.

  • Encouraging the recruitment and professional development of women in areas where they are underrepresented.

  • Preventing sexual harassment and gender-based harassment through specific protocols.

  • Using inclusive and respectful communication.

  • Protecting and supporting victims of gender-based violence.

  • Integrating a gender perspective into occupational risk prevention and workplace health.

Moving forward in a traditionally male-dominated sector

The plastics industry, like many other industrial sectors, has historically had a predominantly male workforce.

The assessment shows that Durplastics has a stable workforce, recruitment processes based on professional criteria and salary policies governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. At the same time, it highlights the need to continue working towards greater female representation and to strengthen training on equality.

The Equality Plan enables us to address this reality through a structured approach, with progressive measures designed to attract, develop and retain diverse talent.

Equality as part of our business model

For Durplastics, equality is not merely a regulatory obligation. It is a key element in building a more responsible and competitive company that is better prepared to face future challenges.

A diversity of experiences and perspectives enriches teams, supports innovation and strengthens the organisation’s ability to make decisions and respond to its customers’ needs.

By approving our first Equality Plan, we reinforce our commitment to the people who are part of Durplastics and continue moving towards a more inclusive and sustainable business model based on equal opportunities.
